Dr Cecilia Priestley

Fellow to the Board

Dr Cecilia Priestley is a Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine at Dorset County Hospital.

She qualified from Sheffield University Medical School in 1985 and following training in general medicine, undertook training in Genitourinary Medicine at Stoke-on-Trent and Sheffield.

She has been a consultant since 1995, and was single handed until 2012. Her clinical interests are in pelvic pain and genital dermatoses. She set up one of the first integrated sexual health clinics for young people in 2005. In 2016 a CQC report highlighted the GUM service as being “outstanding”.

She was a fellow to the BASHH Board from 2011-2015 and was also BASHH representative on the FSRH General Training Committee. From 2013 until it was disbanded in April 2016, she was the Wessex representative on the HIV CRG. She has had extensive involvement in in service commissioning and sexual health / HIV care in prisons.
