Dr Liat Sarner

Dr Liat Sarner is the Sexual Health clinical lead for Barts Health NHS Trust, a recent merger of Barts and the London NHS Trust, Newham University Hospital NHS Trust and Whipps Cross NHS Trust. Barts Health operates from 5 clinical sites across East London with approximate annual attendance rates of 110,000.

She qualified in 1995 from University College London Medical School, and trained in HIV/GUM at The Royal London, Barts and Newham Hospitals, becoming at consultant in 2003 & clinical lead in 2008.

Her main areas of clinical interest are preconception & pregnancy in HIV, chronic genital conditions in women, including genital dermatoses, and service delivery which currently includes the standardisation of delivery from 5 recently merged clinical sites and working with commissioners to agree service specifications and contracts.

She is the chair of the integrated sexual health subgroup within the North East London Sexual Health & HIV Network (NELNET), & was involved in the forumlation of the integrated sexual health tariff for London.

For the last 2 years she has been the North East Thames CGC representative and has recently been elected as an examiner for the DipGUM examination.
